Annecy (the sequel!) - 2005
This was a great trip. I got to fly with my twin brother Jason, parents Janet and Brian, girlfriend Emmalyn and friends Suzanne, Andy and Chris

DAYS NUMBERED AS -4,-3 etc WERE BEFORE THE TRIP (this was confusing Jason a little bit)
(Day -4) (Day -3) (Day -2) (Day -1) (Day 1) (Day 2) (Day 3) (Day 4) (Day 5) (Day 6) (Day 7) (Day 8

Day 4
Friday 29th July 2005

Chris and Suzanne were leaving us to visit other friends 'in Europe' so the morning was spent dropping them both off at the train station. Fortunately this time I would not get lost on the return journey as it was daylight and getting to the lake is really easy with the mountains as a permanent navigation aid.

Chris was keen to lose the paraglider on his travels and was thinking about shipping it back to America from France. It was handy that the train station was right next the station. I guess that is what he did.

I was feely pretty ill in the morning and had very little energy. I knew that flying would not be a good idea (probably would have gone anyway). Fortunately the weather gods decided I needed a day of rest and later on the clouds opened.

We all sat indoors watching the devoloping weather outside. It is quite fascinating watching the mist roll up the hillsides before a storm. It is a great incite into how the air flows over obstacles. I sat there for at least an hour, transfixed by the building storm clouds. Soon enough down came the rain.

Everyone was pretty pooped from all the travelling of the last few days and we were glad to have an excuse not to fly.

The weather cleared almost as quickly as it had developed and the tarmnac outside our B & B was spawning its own mist as the sun baked down on the standing water.

Had we been really keen we might have snuck a flight it, but age and wisdom (mum and dad) pointed out that we would get our kit soaking wet and there would only be about an hour and a half of daylight left.

No flying today.
